The « hard rock » is essentially from blues-rock, it is distinguished in particular by its burning riffs and its saturated guitars.
Among the great precursors we find, in England, the Rolling Stones, Cream and the Who, in the United States, Steppenwolf or Cactus. But the real archetype will be offered at the end of the 60s by Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath.
